The Rays have just returned from their Mini Tour

T-Shirt_Faces-back_smallThe Rays have just returned from their "Skeletons & Majesties Mini Tour" that took place in Germany and Switzerland.
The kick off had been on Easter Monday. The Rays had their first show with the totally new set in Bremen.
Going along with the latest release of Gamma Ray ("Skeletons & Majesties" EP) the band has spiced up seldom played songs the fans could vote for during the last months. So the Rays came up with an awesome collection of songs represented in two completely different styles - acoustic and with full metal gear.

Two shows (Bochum and Pratteln) have been recorded for an upcoming live release and the band showed up in a joyful mood visibly enjoying the new setlist. It's hard to name highlights of all the songs that where reinterpreted in a totally new and more powerful style, but it could definitely be "Hold Your Ground", "Brothers" or "Money" from the early Ralf Scheepers era that showed how great they can sound with Kai on vocals, who did a great job with that for sure. Sadly though Dirk was caught by a flu after some days on the road but gave his best to perform the best possible.
As a special surprise good friend "from the past times", as Kai revealed on stage in Bremen, Michael Kiske, appeared on stage in Bochum and Pratteln to sing "Time To Break Free" from the "Land Of The Free" album part one. He had the audience with him all the time and another highlight of his participation on these two shows has been the song "A While In Dreamland" he sang in duet with Kai Hansen. Do we have to say who sang the encores like "Future World"?

A similar but bit shortened setlist - on tour it's been 2 1/2 hrs of full metal gear and acoustic attack - can be heard on the upcoming events (see below) or in the tourdates section.
